International Journal of Economic Sciences (IJES) encourages constructive post-publication discussion and scholarly debate concerning articles published in the journal.
Readers may submit comments or correspondence to the Editorial Office, including Letters to the Editor, where they wish to discuss, question, clarify, or critically evaluate aspects of a published article. Such correspondence should be scholarly, relevant, evidence-based, and professionally expressed.
Post-publication discussion may also take place on independent external platforms such as PubPeer. PubPeer is an independent platform and is not operated, controlled, or moderated by IJES.
Where the journal considers publishing substantive correspondence concerning an article, the authors of the original article will normally be given an appropriate opportunity to respond. Authors may choose not to respond, but they do not have the right to prevent publication of legitimate scholarly criticism solely because they disagree with it.
Letters, comments, responses, and other forms of post-publication correspondence are subject to editorial assessment and are not automatically accepted for publication. The journal may decline material that is unsupported, irrelevant, defamatory, abusive, or otherwise unsuitable for scholarly publication.
Scholarly disagreement or criticism does not, by itself, constitute research or publication misconduct. However, where post-publication discussion raises credible concerns about the accuracy, reliability, integrity, originality, authorship, data, methods, or ethical conduct associated with a published article, the matter may be assessed under the journal's applicable publication ethics policies.
Where a material error or significant integrity concern is established, IJES may take appropriate post-publication action, including publication of a Correction, Expression of Concern, Retraction, or other relevant notice in accordance with the journal's Retraction and Correction Policies.
IJES considers relevant guidance and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when addressing post-publication discussions, corrections, and related ethical concerns.
